FAQ

QWhy do we call them community cancer centers?
AIbaraki Prefecture has decided to establish Ibaraki Regional Cancer Centers in hospitals in four regions of the prefecture, considering the convenience of the citizens of the prefecture as a comprehensive cancer control promotion plan.
Each hospital will be able to effectively utilize the unique functions and manpower that they have cultivated at the cancer center.
This is one of the unique features that cancer centers in other prefectures do not have.
QWhat kind of people are admitted to cancer centers and how are they treated?
APatients suspected of having cancer or diagnosed with cancer are eligible for hospitalization.
After hospitalization, the spread of cancer and general condition are evaluated, and information about the name of the disease and treatment methods are explained to the patient in an easy-to-understand manner.
Then, with the consent of the patient, the best treatment is performed.
During the course of your hospital stay, our medical team will support you and your family physically and mentally.
QWhat are the characteristics of the cancer center here?
ACancer specialists, nurses, pharmacists, radiological technologists, and other medical professionals work together to provide safe and reliable medical care in a timely manner.
In particular, at our cancer center, we will provide cancer treatment in cooperation with the University of Tsukuba Hospital.
In addition, we regularly monitor changes in the patient's condition after cancer treatment over the long term.
In addition, the palliative care team supports patients who want to live a life free from the pain and suffering of cancer.
QPlease tell me about cancer treatment.
ATreatment methods for cancer include surgical treatment (operation), radiotherapy, and drug treatment using anticancer drugs.
Each treatment has advantages and disadvantages, such as pain after surgery and side effects of anticancer drugs.
Therefore, by minimizing the disadvantages of each treatment method and using these treatments together, the maximum therapeutic effect can be obtained with a small disorder.
This is called multidisciplinary cancer treatment.
QDo you have a consultation desk?
ALocal cancer treatment cooperation base hospitals nationwide are obliged to receive cancer consultations, and at our hospital, "Patient Family Counseling Support Center/Cancer Counseling Support Center” has been set up, and full-time nurses and medical social workers are assigned as counselors, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
