1981 January 6 At the liaison meeting between Ibaraki Prefecture and the University of Tsukuba, medical problems in holding the Science Expo and the need for secondary and tertiary emergency medical facilities in the southern and western regions of the prefecture were proposed. Since August, Ibaraki Prefecture, the Ibaraki Medical Association, and the University of Tsukuba have held meetings to enhance secondary and tertiary emergency medical care in the southern and western regions of the prefecture, where the population has been increasing rapidly, and to hold the Science Expo from March 8. The establishment of the Tsukuba Medical Center Foundation is planned.
