Functions and initiatives

Regional medical support hospital

Purpose of regional medical support hospitals

Regional medical support hospitals are one of the functions of medical institutions stipulated by law to promote the division of roles and cooperation among regional medical functions through the support of regional hospitals and clinics.
Our hospital is also promoting cooperation according to the situation of medical institutions in the region and the actual situation of the region, and in March 11, it was approved as a regional medical support hospital for the first time in the prefecture.

Role of our hospital as a regional medical support hospital

Regional medical support hospitals are required by the Medical Care Act to meet the following requirements.

  • In principle, the number of beds must be 200 or more.
  • Providing medical care centered on referral patients.
⇒In the case of our hospital, the referral rate from other medical institutions is 50% or more, and the reverse referral rate to other medical institutions is 70% or more.
  • Providing medical equipment and beds to other medical institutions for joint use. ⇒We accept orders for examinations such as MRI and CT from other medical institutions. In some cases, our doctors and general practitioners jointly examine inpatients who have been referred to us.
  • Providing education and training opportunities for local healthcare professionals. ⇒On the theme of each field, workshops and lectures are held monthly for medical professionals inside and outside the hospital.
  • Be competent to provide emergency medical care. ⇒We have a critical care center that provides emergency medical care 24 hours a day.

For patients referred by local medical institutions, we support primary care physicians through the provision of medical care such as specialized treatment, examinations, hospitalization, and surgery, the shared use of medical equipment, the provision of emergency medical care, and the provision of training opportunities. I'm here.As a general rule, we refer patients whose symptoms have stabilized after treatment at our hospital has settled down to doctors in the local community.
In some cases, depending on the disease or condition, doctors in the community and our hospital cooperate to monitor the patient's condition for a long period of time while cooperating on a regular basis.
Medical cooperation is also a mechanism for regional medical institutions, including our hospital, to provide higher quality medical care to everyone in the region.
