Efforts of the Department of Infectious Diseases
We provide treatment for infectious diseases for patients who have returned from overseas, occupational infectious disease treatment (needle pricks, exposure to mucous membranes), and infectious diseases specified by law, except for tuberculosis.
In the Department of Infectious Diseases, rapid diagnosis of various infectious diseases is performed in the in-hospital microbiology laboratory, and rapid diagnosis using genes is especially useful for diagnosis and treatment.
We will respond to the following referrals and consultations.
- If you have recently traveled abroad and are suspected of having an infectious disease.
- A detailed examination is required due to contact with a person suspected of being exposed to a needle stick, mucous membrane, or infectious disease.
In addition, for those who go abroad for work, study, or travel, those who enter, practice, or find employment at medical-related institutions, and those who have a weakened immune system (after splenectomy), we provide specialized vaccinations, antibody measurement, We prescribe preventive medicines such as antimalarial drugs.
See here for details.
Travel/pre-work vaccinations and antibody tests
There are many types of infectious diseases, and since it is necessary to respond in a wide area, we will respond in cooperation with doctors of other departments and nearby medical institutions.
