Certified as a teaching facility for transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement surgery for aortic valve stenosis started in 2017: TAVI.
In February 2024, we were certified as a "TAVI guidance facility" in recognition of the number of cases and treatment system. There are only 2 teaching facilities nationwide, including our hospital (as of the end of March 27).
We will continue to work on minimally invasive treatments that are gentle on patients' bodies.
What is TAVI?
Catheter treatment for severe or more severe aortic valve stenosis involves inserting an artificial valve (biological valve) into the patient's body using a catheter (thin tube) from a blood vessel at the base of the thigh, without opening the chest or stopping the heart. This is a surgery in which the organ is delivered to the heart and placed in place. Compared to open heart surgery, this treatment is less stressful for the patient.
