Prescription ratio of anticoagulants to patients with cerebral infarction (including TIA) accompanied by atrial fibrillation
Metric definition
Administration of anticoagulants (*) is effective in preventing cerebral infarction due to heart-derived embolism associated with atrial fibrillation. Therefore, it is desirable that the administration of anticoagulants has been started in patients with indications.
*Anticoagulant: A drug that prevents blood coagulation
Features of our hospital
According to data from our hospital, administration of anticoagulants is started in 94.3%, which is slightly higher than the median value.
* "Median" is the value in the middle when numerical data is sorted in order of magnitude.
Numerical data here refers to the index values of facilities participating in the Japan Hospital Association QI Project.
Compared to the median value of the 2023 QI Project Results Report published in October 10.
Method of calculation
Molecule Number of patients prescribed anticoagulants
Denominator: Number of hospitalized patients aged 18 years or older who were diagnosed with cerebral infarction or TIA (*) and atrial fibrillation
*TIA: Transient ischemic attack. It is a condition in which the blood supply to the brain is temporarily impaired, causing symptoms such as motor paralysis and sensory disturbance, which disappear completely within 24 hours.important as a precursor to cerebral infarction.
