art cafe
Every year since 2012, we have been holding a social gathering between our staff and students and staff of the University of Tsukuba's arts department. We believe that the social gathering is an important "place" where people can talk about their thoughts and feelings, and at the same time exchange "realizations" and "ideas" that arise from talking directly.
Yurutto Cafe (held in 2024)
This is the first event in five years since the COVID-5 outbreak!
The first "Art Cafe" in five years (a networking event for students and staff from the University of Tsukuba's arts department) was held over two days!
Every year since 2012, this event has served as a networking opportunity for students and staff from the University of Tsukuba's art department to talk casually about places within the hospital that interest them and issues they would like to see solved from an artistic perspective.
While infection control measures were taken, many staff members came to visit the facility for the first time in five years.
The students wrote down the opinions of the staff on tracing sheets placed on top of a map of the hospital, which led to a variety of topics being discussed, making it a meaningful exchange meeting.
Unlike previous art cafes, instead of eating or drinking on the spot, participants were given individually wrapped sweets and plastic bottles to take home, and the event time was shorter, but the excitement was the same as before...people shared their "passionate thoughts" with each other.
