For those who will be undergoing the Association Health Insurance General Health Checkup (lifestyle-related disease prevention checkup)

As abdominal palpation is no longer a required item in the general health checkup for the Japan Health Insurance Association (prevention of lifestyle-related diseases), it is now left to the discretion of the doctor.
From April 2025, abdominal ultrasound examinations, which have been performed as an alternative to abdominal palpation, will be removed from the health checkup items.
If you would like to have an abdominal ultrasound examination, you can apply for it as an optional examination (examination fee: 5,500 yen (tax included)).
