angiography
1. What is angiography?
A thin tube called a catheter is inserted into the blood vessel from the wrist or base of the foot, and the catheter is advanced to the target site for examination and treatment.
2. Inspection flow
- You will lie down on the examination table to be examined and treated.
- Disinfect the arm or base of the foot where the catheter will be inserted, and cover the body with a clean sheet.
- A needle is inserted into an artery in the arm or groin to insert a catheter.
- The catheter is advanced to the target site, and examination and treatment are performed.
Local anesthesia or general anesthesia is used during examination and treatment.
In the case of local anesthesia, we can talk about it, so if you have any problems, please let us know during the examination.

4.Inspection details
At our hospital, doctors, nurses, clinical engineers, and radiological technologists work together as a team to focus on the patient, and perform examinations and treatments while demonstrating the skills and knowledge of each specialized field.
Radiological technologists manage equipment so that examinations and treatments can be performed smoothly, and strive to provide optimal images with minimal radiation exposure.
angiography
The shape and flow of blood vessels at the target site can be evaluated in detail.
At our hospital, we mainly perform the following angiographic examinations.
Cerebral angiography
coronary angiography
lower extremity angiography
Endovascular treatment
A catheter is advanced to the target site and treatment is performed using a special instrument.
Treatment to widen narrowed or clogged blood vessels, treatment to prevent blood from flowing into an aneurysm in which the blood vessel swells like a "bump", or stop bleeding due to trauma, etc. If there is no blood vessel, there is a treatment to block the blood vessel to stop bleeding, and at our hospital, we mainly perform the following endovascular treatment.
During examination/treatment
Puncture site
Thrombectomy therapy for major brain artery occlusion
Before treatment
After treatment
Percutaneous coronary angioplasty (PCI)

Endovascular therapy (EVT) for peripheral vessels

After treatment
Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma

Endovascular treatment in the hybrid operating room
A combination of an operating table and an angiography system is called a hybrid operating room.It is possible to combine surgical treatment performed in the operating room with minimally invasive endovascular treatment using a catheter.
In our hybrid operating room, we mainly perform the following treatments.
Coil embolization for cerebral aneurysm
Left: Before treatment Center: After treatment Right: 3DRA VR image after treatment
Aortic Stent Graft Intervention (EVAR) for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
Left: Before treatment Center: After treatment Right: 3D roadmap (preoperative CT fusion)
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) for aortic stenosis
