Mammography
1.What is mammography?
X-rays are used to visualize tissues such as mammary glands, adipose tissue, and pectoral muscles.
Small lumps, masses, and fine calcifications that cannot be detected by palpation can be visualized, which is useful for diagnosing lesions.
All of our images are taken by female technicians.
2. Machine introduction
digital breast X-ray system AMULET Innovality
3.Inspection details
The breast is placed on the device, and the breast is compressed with a compression plate for imaging.
The number of shots is determined by the doctor's request.
If necessary, add magnified shooting and spot shooting.
Medial and lateral oblique direction: MLO
cranial-to-caudal direction: CC
4. Requests to patients
Compressing the breast can be painful.
This is necessary to obtain better images, so please cooperate.
(Why breast compression is necessary)
- Clear images can be obtained by making the thickness of the breast uniform and eliminating the overlapping of the mammary glands.
- The exposure dose can be reduced by reducing the thickness of the breast.
- By fixing the breast, it eliminates blurring caused by movement.
In the following cases, you may not be able to take the test, so please be sure to let us know in advance.
- People with pacemakers or ICDs
- Those who have undergone breast augmentation surgery or breast reconstruction surgery
- Those with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt
- Those using anticoagulants
- Those who are pregnant or may be pregnant
