MRI examination
1. What is MRI examination?
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a test that uses magnets and electromagnetic waves to look inside the body without using X-rays.

-
on getting tested
In the following cases, you may not be able to take the test, so please be sure to let us know in advance.
Those with cardiac pacemakers, ICDs, cochlear implants, or neurostimulators
Those who have inserted metal by surgery, etc. more than several decades ago
People with tattoos or art makeup
People who don't like tight spaces
Those who have difficulty staying still
Those who are pregnant or may be pregnant -
Pre-examination preparation
Since the examination takes a long time, please wash your hands beforehand.
A strong magnetic field is generated in the examination room.If you bring the following into the inspection room, there is a possibility that the machine will malfunction or the items brought in will be damaged.
In principle, you will be asked to change into an examination gown.Precautions for Contrast Imaging
Depending on the examination content, a drug called a contrast agent may be injected into a vein to take an image.
Refrain from eating 4 hours before an imaging study.
(Example: morning examination ⇒ skip breakfast, afternoon examination ⇒ skip lunch)
If you are currently breastfeeding, please refrain from breastfeeding for 48 hours after the contrast scan.
Patients taking regular medications should follow their doctor's instructions. -
under inspection
During filming, there is a loud noise like a construction site.It is not a mechanical failure, so please accept it with confidence.

We will give you an emergency buzzer.
If you feel unwell or can't stand the long test, feel free to let us know by buzzing. -
After inspection
Daily life, such as eating and bathing, is fine.

T (Tesla) is the unit of magnetic field strength.
Pip Elekiban = about 0.08T
4.Inspection details
Head MRI
This examination is performed for diseases such as cerebral infarction, aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, and brain tumor.
(Inspection time: 20-30 minutes)
Blood vessels can be visualized without using a contrast agent.
Spine MRI
This examination is performed for diseases such as spinal canal stenosis, bone fractures, spondylitis, spinal cord lesions, and bone metastases.
(Inspection time: 15-60 minutes)
Tissues such as the spinal cord and intervertebral discs can be visualized clearly.
extremity MRI
This test is performed for diseases such as ligament damage, bone fractures, bone metastases, and tumors.
(Inspection time: 20-40 minutes)
This test is useful for evaluating ligaments, muscles, and bones.
Cardiac MRI
This test is used to diagnose myocardial wall motion, cardiac function, myocardial infarction, myocarditis, etc.
(Inspection time: 30-60 minutes)
You can see the movement of the heart in the video.
abdominal MRI
This examination is performed for tumors of abdominal organs such as the liver, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, and kidneys, as well as diseases such as stones.
(Inspection time: 20-40 minutes)
By imaging the signal of water components such as gallbladder fluid, the gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreatic duct can be imaged, and dilatation and stenosis of gallstones and bile ducts can be diagnosed (MRCP).
*Please refrain from drinking water for 2 hours before the MRCP test.
lower extremity MRI
This test is performed for diseases such as arteriosclerosis obliterans.
(Inspection time: 30-50 minutes)
It is possible to visualize blood vessels without using a contrast medium. In addition, it is possible to visualize even small blood vessels by using a contrast medium.
Breast MRI
This test is performed when breast disease is suspected.
(Inspection time: 20-30 minutes)
It is useful for diagnosing the spread and presence of lesions in the mammary gland area.
3.0T MRI
It is possible to capture higher resolution images than 1.5T MRI.
At our hospital, we mainly image the head, the orthopedic area, and the prostate.
