Tumbling Garden Spring Festival Event Report!

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, the "Tsumugi no Niwa Spring Festival" was held at "Tsumugi no Niwa" in front of Tsukuba Medical Center Hospital. The weather was fine on the day, and many people came, including local residents and families.
This event was held to showcase the benches, pergolas, and other improvements made through the "Tsumugi Garden Renovation Project" implemented in 2024. Thanks to everyone's warm support, we were able to renovate the aging wooden benches and pergolas, improve the paved areas, and prune the garden trees, creating a safer and more comfortable space. On the day of the event, we hope that visitors would be able to see these renovated areas in person and appreciate the charm of the garden.
On the day of the event, we have prepared a variety of activities that everyone from children to adults can enjoy!
In the "Herb Arrangement" workshop, children enjoyed creating arrangements using herbs that can be enjoyed in cooking or as tea. In the art workshop, they challenged themselves to make pop-up cards, resulting in a variety of colorful works of art born from the children's free imaginations.
The stage program will include a hula dance class (hula halau). Pikake TernumaA hula dance show was held by [name of performer]. The colorful costumes and graceful dances created a tropical atmosphere in the spring garden. A mini jazz concert was also held, allowing guests to enjoy music in the open space of the garden.
As part of our "April Dream" project, we had a corner where children could write their dreams on cherry blossom-themed cards and display them. The children worked hard to write down their dreams, and they will be displayed in the hospital at a later date.
Your donations are a great source of support for the operation of "Tsumugi no Niwa" (The Spinning Garden), enabling us to continue the daily maintenance and environmental improvements of the garden. We are grateful for your understanding and continued support of "Tsumugi no Niwa," and for the generous donations we received at this event. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude. Thank you very much.
Through this event, we not only raised awareness of "Tsumugi no Niwa" (The Garden of Spinning), but we also received feedback such as "I felt closer to the hospital," "Visiting this place brings peace to my heart," and "It's always nice to see beautiful flowers in bloom," which reaffirmed our belief that it is a beloved place of relaxation and comfort for the local community.
Going forward, our organization will continue to do its utmost to ensure that "Tsumugi no Niwa" (The Garden of Weaving) remains a place of peace and relaxation for patients using the hospital, their families, and everyone in the community.
Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and to all those involved who cooperated in the planning and operation of this event.
