Frequently asked questions about My Number health insurance cards

QCan I use my current health insurance card?
AIf your insurance card is still valid, it can be used until December 1, 2025.
From December 2, 2025, verification will be made using your My Number Card (My Number Health Insurance Card) or eligibility confirmation document.
QI would like to use the high-cost medical care system, but do I need to submit a certificate of limit application?
AIf you have a My Number insurance card, you do not need to submit a limit certificate. Also, if your eligibility confirmation document shows an applicable category, you do not need to submit a limit certificate.
If your health insurance card or eligibility confirmation does not state your applicable category, you will need to submit a limit certificate.
QI have a My Number card, but I haven't registered it as an insurance card. Can I use it to check my insurance?
AAdvance registration is required. Please register your insurance card using one of the following methods.
1. My Number Portal, 2. Seven Bank ATMs, 3. Card readers with facial recognition at hospitals
QIf I change my insurer due to changing jobs or moving, do I need to go through any insurance procedures?
APlease follow the usual procedure for switching insurance.
QCan I confirm my insurance just by receiving the eligibility information?
AInsurance cannot be confirmed based on eligibility information alone.
Please present your My Number insurance card or eligibility confirmation.
However, if you experience equipment trouble, you can confirm your insurance status by presenting your My Number card along with your insurance card.
QDo I need to present my My Number health insurance card when I visit a doctor on school trips or other school events, or during club activities?
AIn the case of school events such as school trips or club activities, you must provide a pre-downloaded PDF file of the insured person qualification information displayed on My Number Portal or a printed copy of it.
We can verify your insurance if you present the "Notice of Eligibility Information or a copy thereof."
QMy electronic certificate has expired, but can I still verify my insurance?
AIt can be used as a health insurance card for three months from the end of the month in which the expiration date falls.
However, this only verifies insurance eligibility and does not provide medical or drug information.
QCan I check my insurance using my smartphone?
AYes, it is available at the insurance card verification desk and emergency reception desk.
QI haven't registered my Individual Number Card on my smartphone. Can the hospital show me how to register it?
AThe hospital will not provide instructions on how to register. Please register yourself.
